Help! Real Man In Extinction

HOW MANY TRUE MEN ARE OUT THERE?

“There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil.” - Job 1:1. As we go into a gradual but clear analysis of this scriptural verse I’ll like to say that this is not one of those religious, philosophical, or academic works usually posited by researchers and authors to excite their audience.

Whereas it may lack the necessary grammatical/academic ethics, my desire is that it will find a way of conveying the burden in the mind of God especially for our generation.

There was a man...

It is amazing to note that in the entirety of God’s creation, He made man to be at the apex, giving him dominion over all other creatures. But from the scripture above we hear God saying “there was a man” meaning that this was a special kind of a man, quite different from all other men. Whereas He also possessed the same features like other men, yet there was something he carried within that made him different.

It will appear that He was clearly outstanding amongst many for the scripture to say there was a man and not men. When it was again time for God to bear witness of Him, this was heaven’s testimony: “Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?” - Job 1:8.

My concern now is this; did God really mean it when He said there was none like Job in all the earth? Whereas we have millions of human beings on the earth classified as “Man” why was it that when God’s search light focused on the earth He could clearly speak authoritatively of one man?

If God were to write about you what will he say? You may be a Medical personnel, Lawyer, Engineer, Teacher, etc; but what will be the summary of God’s report concerning you when he says “there was a man named...[Your Name].

As you summarize sincerely God’s report for your life, we will seek to evaluate one by one the crucial issues raised by God about Job which may be lacking in our days for which reason Heaven is calling for help.

...blameless and upright

One thing I have known God for, is his right/proper usage of words. It is normal for the natural man to either say what he does not mean or mean what he never said, but with God, He neither lies nor withdraws from his words. For us, the words “blameless and upright” may be used interchangeable, but for God they stand out independently as proper adjectives for the description of a correct man. For me, the message conveyed here by God about the life of brother Job was that, his life didn’t have stains, it wasn’t crooked, it was not irregular, it could stand the glare of light whether in the day or night etc.

How come that a man living on planet earth can be said to be blameless and upright? The matter here is that Job could not be corrupted by his wealth, professional ethics, friends and/or worldly influence. For many of us the corruption in our lives has left blame upon blames on us. Quietly, our hearts keep condemning us even when we are in the church as leaders.

I hear the Lord constantly saying “Let your garment always be white” (Eccl 9:8), not with spot nor wrinkles as we already have. We must quietly pause now to examine our lives: how much blemish have accumulated upon our garments as we are busy running errands in the church? We must also check whether we are still upright in all our ways, for some may have been bent and denatured by sin and all its element.

...feared God and shunned evil

Job speaking to his wife (as depicted by Georges de La Tour): The defining point of Job’s life was the fact that He feared God and shunned evil in all that he did. It bothers me that heaven is putting up an advertisement for a man even when there are several men existing.

As we begin to look at the conclusion of this whole matter we must note here that the defining point of Job’s life was the fact that He feared God and shunned evil in all that he did. It bothers me that heaven is putting up an advertisement for a man even when there are several men existing.

Could it be that there is something ‘special’ that a man is expected to posses that we lack? Surely sin robs a man of vital ingredients of living. When a man does not fear God and dwells in evil, such a man has short statue and a life perforated, so much so that, spiritual nutrients are lost. Our days are filled with high levels of immorality, homosexuality, and the height of human degradation i.e man stooping low to have sex with animals.

It is in the midst of these that heaven is announcing a search for a man in the mould of Job who is blameless, upright, fears God and shuns evil, to rise up to the challenges of our days. As we search, can such a man really be found?

A Call to Arise

As the depravity of man continues, the world is clearly helpless, for it will take either God or man to help man as nothing else can. It is in the midst of this dire need that heaven has raised an alarm just before it is too late.

Just over ten yeas ago who would have thought that homosexualism would seek to be legalized when every one saw it as an abomination? How about man having sex with animals? No wonder the word of God says “For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.” (Isaiah 60:2). God is saying that our case has become an emergency so much so that if we don’t do something now, man may go into extinction.

Perhaps as you read this article, the Holy Spirit is judging you to do something, then now is the time. You must begin with yourself, check whether your garment has been dented by sin, your character smeared by unrighteousness etc. You may be going to church yet heaven is not seeing the real man in you. We must retrace our steps, seek the Lord now that He may be found and become a shinning light in our environment. Friend(s), the onus is on you now to do something before it is too late, will God count on you?

BIBLE VERSE FOR MEDITATION
And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it. Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil? And still he holds fast to his integrity, although you incited Me against him, to destroy him without cause.” - Job 2:2-3
